Third-party liability
Damage or injury your animal causes to someone else. Particularly relevant for certain dog breeds.

Vaccination, routine check-ups, loss and theft, depending on the insurer.
What to watch for
- Conditions present before the policy started are excluded.
- There is an age limit at entry, and premiums rise as the animal gets older.
- Routine vaccinations and preventive care are usually outside the standard scope.
- Hereditary and breed-specific conditions may be restricted.
- Annual and per-claim limits are lower than people expect, so the numbers deserve a proper look.

Cat and dog owners, particularly of breeds prone to specific conditions. Registration and microchipping are legally required for dogs, and matter for the policy too.
