Comprehensive Car Insurance (Kasko)
Damage, theft, wide protection
Comprehensive car insurance — everyone in Turkey calls it kasko — covers damage to your own car. That is the difference from traffic insurance: traffic insurance pays for the damage you cause to other people, kasko pays for yours. One does not replace the other — they work together.
What it covers
What to watch for
- Damage caused while driving under the influence or without a valid licence is not covered.
- Racing, speed trials and similar use fall outside the policy.
- Wear, tear and faults caused by lack of maintenance are not treated as damage.
- Payment is based on the car's market value at the time of loss, not the price on your invoice.
- If the policy carries an excess, that part of the claim stays with you. Zero-excess options cost more in premium.
Who it is for
Anyone for whom the value of their car is a serious sum. It is close to standard on new cars; on older ones the decision comes down to comparing the premium against what the car is actually worth.
In kasko the difference between insurers is less about price and more about the fine detail: one gives you a replacement car for seven days, another for fifteen; one waives the glass excess, another does not. We compare 30+ insurers on an identical cover set and show you the differences in writing.
